10.1 Troubleshooting Engine

Problem

Cause

Solution

Engine doesn’t 

start or difficult 

to start.

No fuel.

Fill the fuel tank 

with regular 

gasoline.

Low oil shut down 

sensor tripped to 

protect engine.

Add oil until it 

reaches minimum 

level on dip stick.

Excess water 

pressure in pump or 

hose.

Release water 

pressure by 

squeezing trigger 

on gun.

Choke lever not in 

right position.

When cold starting 

the engine, set the 

choke to 

CLOSE

OFF

When warm
