Messages
The SDP760 radio can receive and transmit preset messages, text messages and status
messages with another radio.
The Messages menu allows the user to view and check the state of the various digital
message systems in the radio. The message system sub-menus are: Inbox, Outbox,
Drafts, New Message, Preset Message and Status Message.

Received messages are stored in the ‘Inbox’. Transmitted messages are stored in the
‘Outbox’. Both can be viewed and deleted as required.
Message Icon
Description
If there are unread messages stored in the radio, the new message
icon will be displayed on the icon bar.
Use the
▼
and
▲
keys to scroll through the Message menu options. Press the ‘Enter’
key to access the required option.
Inbox
The Inbox is used to store the received messages. Up to 100 messages can be stored in
the Inbox.
When there are 90 messages store in the Inbox and a new message is received, the
prompt ‘The Inbox will be full, please delete messages!’ will appear. When the Inbox is
full, the oldest message will be overwritten by the latest one automatically.
For each received message the Inbox displays either details of the sender from the
Contacts list or, if the ID is not known to the Contact list, the sender UID. If no
messages are stored, ‘No Message record’ is displayed.
