DIAGNOSIS CONNECTOR POSITIONS
C24
GENERAL INFORMATION
Differently from immobilizer systems with transponder keys, these systems use a remote
control to enable or disable the motor immobilizer; when the vehicle is locked by remote control
the immobilizer is automatically activated; vice versa when the vehicle is unlocked using a
remote control the immobilizer is disactivated.
When the immobilizer system is disactivated the car turn indicators flash (only on models with
theft alarms) and the immobilizer led stops flashing. When the immobilizer system is activated,
the car turn indicators flash (only on models with theft alarms) and the immobilizer led flashes
quickly for 10 seconds, then slowly.
If the vehicle is locked by means of a mechanical key the motor immobilizer is not active, but
activates automatically after 20 seconds.
REMOTE CONTROL INFORMATION
All vehicles provided with the remote control illustrated above use the immobilizer system
described and can be programmed by SDD/SBB. This remote control is a radio transmitter with
two buttons, one for activating and one for disactivating the motor immobilizer. The radio code
is modified on the remote control and immobilizer central unit every time the remote control is
used. If for any reason (flat battery, replacement of battery, etc.) the sequence becomes
unsynchronised (the remote control code is not the same as that on the central unit) it must be
re-synchronised in the following way:
-
Unlock the driver’s door with a key;
-
Check that all the doors, including the boot and bonnet are closed;
-
Press the “Lock” button on the remote control quickly 4 times.
EKA CODE INFORMATION
The emergency start code is used in the event of a missing, broken or faulty remote control to
cut out the motor immobilizer manually.
In this case the immobilizer is disabled for one start only, at the end of which the operation must
be repeated.
The EKA code is made up of 4 digits and is different for each vehicle. It is issued by the dealer
and appears on the safety plate, or it can be read by SDD/SBB using the special “EKA CODE”
function.
To disable the motor immobilizer proceed as follows:
1) Use a key and turn it anti-clockwise in the driver’s door lock to the “LOCK”
position; hold in this position for at least five seconds. Turn the key back to
the central position.
