Only original spare parts must be used. When
ordering spare parts we request a FAX trans-
mission of the relevant module parts list. We also
require the machine number. This is shown on the main
parts list and on the nameplate. To localise faults we re-
commend you to contact our local agent by telephone,
specifying the type of fault as exactly as possible and
the point in the operating cycle at which the machine
stopped. In many cases the problem can be resolved in
this way.
For repair work at the strapping head, see operating
instructions H 3000.

CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE
8.1 ELIMINATION OF FAULTS
If a fault leads to an interruption in the strapping cyc-
le, the cycle monitoring time is exceeded. The „
Strap
misfeed
“ fault indication also appears if the type of fault
is not known.
These faults can often only be eliminated by
qualified personnel. Your operating and main
-
tenance personnel can be trained at our works.
Preconditions
– Machine is correctly connected to mains.
– All automatic safety cut-outs are switched on.
– Control system is started.
For a strap feed fault refer to Chapter 6.7.2. If the fault
is unknown, the following procedure should be adopted:
a) – „
Mode of operation
“ switch to the „
Manual
“ posi-
tion and set machine to initial position.
– If the strap feed is incomplete, withdraw strap
from guides and cut off deformed section.
– Reinsert strap and start machine again (see
section
6.5).
b) – If (a) is unsuccessful, the operation of all motor
contactors and protection switches must be
checked.
c) – If (b) is unsuccessful, there is probably a fault in
an external transmitter, switching element
(contactor, etc.) or in the input or output module
of the PLC.
CAUTION
Refer to Chapter 6.5 when working in the
danger area.
8.2 SWIVEL STRAPPING HEAD 90°
(SERVICE POSITION)
For maintenance and repair work on the
strapping head, the strapping head can be
swiveld
90°
upwards.
Swivel to service position:
– Move the carriage (strapping head) to the rear initial
position.
– Turn the locking lever (7/2) to the left.
– Swivel the strapping head 90° upwards with the aid
of the lever (7/1) and turn the locking lever (7/2) to
the right again to secure the strapping head in the
service position. By lifting off the strapping head, the
carriage is locked in the rearmost position.
Swivel into working position:
– Hold the strapping head with your right hand on the
lever (7/1). Turn the locking lever (7/2) to the left
and carefully swing the strapping head down to the
working position.
– When the strapping head is back in the working po-
sition, the carriage is released again in the horizontal
movement.
