Minimum clearances for convection
Natural convection must be possible above and below the
device. A clearance of 100 mm is necessary in both cases.
Safety guidelines for protective conductors
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
If the protective conductor is not connected or connected
improperly, there is a risk of death or severe injury.
Connect the protective conductor as follows:

On the designated threaded pin (see Fig. 2) and with
the mounting accessories illustrated
•
The protective conductor cross-section must be
≥
10 mm
2
•
The cable lug used must be corrosion-resistant
Note
When connecting the protective conductor, the applicable
national and/or local regulations must be observed.
Installing CIM4210C PROFINET
Note
The rear panel on which the device is mounted must be
metallically conductive and grounded. Otherwise you need
to connect the device to the installation housing using an
additional protective conductor.
1 Drill 4 M6 threads in the mounting plate
The threaded holes are illustrated in Figs. 2 and 3.

5 Connect the device to the protective conductor (PE).
The retaining elements (nut, washer and spring lock
washer) are attached to the threaded pin for the
protective conductor (see Fig. 2) in the delivery
condition.
6 Attach the connectors to the X1, X2 and X3 interfaces
(see Fig. 1)
Uninstalling CIM4210C PROFINET
Follow the steps in the section "Installing CIM4210C
PROFINET" in the reverse order.
X1, X2: PROFINET (see Fig. 1)
Connect X1 and X2 to the higher-level controller and/or the
next PROFINET device using an Ethernet cable according
to the PROFINET specification.
X3: 24 V DC supply voltage (see Fig. 1)
