7.14 Windows Settings for Use as Default Router
Windows settings
Make the following settings on your PG/PC. The instructions are based on the example of
Windows XP Professional.
1.
Open the Control Panel by clicking "Start > Control Panel" or "Start > Settings > Control
Panel".
2. Double-click "Network Connections".
3. Double-click the network connection by which your PG/PC is connected to the
TS Adapter IE.
The "Status of …" dialog box opens.
4. Click "Properties...".
The "Properties of …" dialog box opens.
5. Select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" from the list and click "Properties".
The "Properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" dialog box opens.
6. Check the "Use the following IP address" check box.
7. Enter the IP address of your PG/PC's network adapter. This IP address must be in the
same subnet as the IP address you assigned the TS Adapter IE.
8. Enter the same subnet mask you assigned to the TS Adapter IE.
9. Under "Default gateway:" enter the IP address you assigned to the TS Adapter IE.
10. Check the "Use the following DNS server addresses" check box.
11. Under "Preferred DNS server:" again enter the IP address you assigned to the
TS Adapter IE.
12. Close all open windows by clicking "OK" or "Close".
Note
Your browser must be configured to not use a proxy server. You can check this in
Internet Explorer 6.0, for example, as follows:
1.
Select "Tools > Internet Options ...".
2. In the "Internet Options" dialog box, select the "Connections" tab and click "LAN
Settings".
3. Clear all check boxes.
4. Close the open windows by clicking "OK".
Result
When you have set these parameters, your browser accesses the Internet via the
TS Adapter IE.
