The transmitter provides various output signals:
●
RTS (request to send)
●
TxS (transmit signal)
●
ADD (add signal).
With the combination of TxS and ADD it is extremely easy to implement an adder
circuit to control a current control unit as is used in the interface of an intrinsically
safe bus node. The combination RxS/TxS is an advantage when controlling a
transformer.
The RTS and ADD signals are applied to a common output (RTS/ADD). The
switchover between two modes can be set with parameters in mode register 0.
To guarantee the minimum gap between two frames, the transmitter is locked after
the end of the frame for a time known as a the minimum interframe gap time. The
gap timer is loaded with the current value of the interframe gap time from the SYN-
time register.
