The overvoltage protection must be implemented by the base device. The reverse polarity
protection is realized by the BA housing.

BusAdapter BA LC/RJ45
Definition
You connect the IO device to the PROFINET IO system via the BusAdapter BA LC/RJ45.
Description
The node communicates via two ports.
• Port 1 offers the option of connecting an LC connector.
When data is transferred via port 1, it is first sent as a differential signal to the LC transceiver.
It is converted there for optical data transmission and vice versa.
• Port 2 allows the connection of an RJ45 connector.
When data is transmitted via port 2, the differential signals of the IO device are output
electrically isolated via the BusAdapter.
