Precision Time Protocol (PTP) Support
The Precision Time Protocol (PTP) module adds the ability to provide time synchronization via Ethernet using the
Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and Network Time Protocol (NTP), and to synchronize with an external IRIG-B source.
The PTP module features BNC ports for TTL IN and TTL OUT. It also includes an LED to indicate when
synchronization has been achieved.
NOTE
The PTP module can only be installed in slot 5. For more information, refer to

NTP
NTP (Network Time Protocol) is the standard for synchronizing the clocks of computer systems throughout the
Internet and is suitable for systems that require accuracies in the order of 1 ms.
