Caller Melody (VIP):
You can mark a directory entry as a
VIP
(very important person) by assigning a
specific ringer to it. VIP calls can be recog-
nized by the ringer.
When scrolling through the directory, VIP
entries are indicated by the symbol
Æ
.
Requirement:
Caller ID service subscrip-
tion.
Caller Picture:
If required, select a picture to be dis-
played when the caller calls (see Using
the Resource Directory, page 44).
Precondition: Caller ID (CID).

You can enter data in the following fields:
Name:
Enter name.
Number:
Enter the number.

Order of directory entries
Directory entries are generally sorted alpha-
betically by last name. Spaces and digits take
first priority. If only the first name was
entered in the directory, this is incorporated
into the sort order instead of the last name.
The sort order is as follows:
1. Space
2. Digits (0–9)
3. Letters (alphabetical)
4. Other characters
To bypass the alphabetical order of the
entries, insert a space or a digit in front of the
first letter of the last name. These entries will
then move to the beginning of the directory.
Selecting entries in the directory
and Quick list

Open the directory or Quick list.
You have the following options:

Use

to scroll through the entries until
the name you want is selected.

Enter the first letters of the name
(max. 8 characters), or use

to scroll to
the entry.
The last name is searched for in the direc-
tory. If no last name is entered, the first
name is used.
