Installation
Place the module in its designated
position with the threaded studs
through the appropriate mounting
holes. Be sure connectors P1 and
P2 are at the top of the module.
Secure the module in place with the
No. 8 washers and nuts provided.
Do not connect the cable until all
the modules are mounted.
After mounting all VSM-1/VLM-1/
VFM-1 modules, fill in any empty
spaces on the MHD panels with
VSB-1 Voice Switch Blank panels.
Mount the VSB-1s in the same
way as the VSM-1/VLM-1/VFM-1
modules.
Wiring the VSMs, VLMs and VFMs
Open the MHD panels so that you are
looking at the back of the VSM-1s, the
VLM-1s, the VFM-1s and the VSB-1s.
Connect the VSM-1/VLM-1/VFM-1
modules together with the cables
provided.
The cables are polarized;
do not force them.
Start with the VSM-1/VLM-1/VFM-1
module at the far left on the top
row. Refer to page 4-112 in the
Connections and Ratings
chapter
for more information.
Connect P1 of the first module to P2
of the module to its left, using the
cable provided that has 4 inch wires,
P/N 600-192237. Continue in the
same manner until all the VSM-1/
VLM-1/VFM-1 modules in the row
are connected.
Connect the cables on the lower
row in the same way if any VSM-1/
VLM-1/VFM-1 modules are there.
Connect P1 of the module on the far
left of the top row to P2 of the
module on the far right of the
bottom row. Use the 40 inch cable,
Model MRRC-1 (P/N 600-192106),
which is ordered separately. If the
lower row has no modules mounted
on it, omit this step.
Connect P2 of the VSM-1/VLM-1/
VFM-1 module at the far right in the
top row to P4 of the TBM-2, using
the 4 foot cable (P/N 600-192258).
Remember, the cables are polar-
ized, do not force them.
(The TBM-2
module is located in the enclosure on
the right side next to the MMB-1/-2
or the PSR-1.)
Route the cable wires across the
hinge to the back of the enclosure.
Do not fasten the cable with a cable
anchor until all wiring is complete.
General Instructions for Installing
Plug-in Modules into the MOM
Plug-in modules are classified as either
half-width or full-width and are installed
as follows:
Half-Width Modules
There are four available slots on the
MOM-4 and two available slots on the
MOM-2 for half-width modules. The
position the half-width module is in
determines which terminal blocks are
available: TB1, TB2, TB3, or TB4 on the
MOM-4 and TB1 or TB3 on the MOM-2.
Each half-width module is shipped with
one card guide to add to the MOM
before it can be installed. Choose the
position for the card guide according to
which terminal block you wish to use.
