Test mode
A jumper inserted as shown in Fig. 14 sets a test function in which the optical transmit
and receive interfaces of the CC–CO are looped, so that data received by the device are
not passed on but fed back from the transmitter to the receiver. With protection device
7SD51 the annunciation “Reception of faulty data” disappears when the device receives
the feedback information successfully. Furthermore the DOK relay keeps being activated
during test operation. This test function can be used during commissioning, or to check
the FO cable between the protection device and the CC–CO for servicing purposes (see
Table 3).
