Installation Notes
Before starting with the installation, make sure that the following accessories are available:
Protection device manual,
Fibre optic cables equipped with ST-plugs at one end for CC–CO. The other end must be
equipped according device the FO-plug of the protection device (e.g. ST-plug, FSMA-
plug),
This manual (supplied with the device).
Before installing the CC–CO, observe the ESD-safety regulations!
The CC–CO is plugged onto a standard mounting rail (DIN EN 50022; 35 × 7.5).
Apply solid low-ohmic protective and functional earth to the connection side of the device
using a M4 screw. The cable cross-section used must correspond to the largest connect-
ed cable cross-section, at least being 2.5 mm
2
(AWG 14).
Line interface
Connect the wire pair to the Line terminals and the shield of the CC–CO with a
screwdriver. The polarity of the connection is irrelevant.
Connect the optical transmitting line of the protection device with the optical receive
interface of the CC–CO. The second interface, the receive terminal of the protection
device, is connected with the transmit interface of the CC–CO.
Fasten the cables of the available auxiliary supply voltage to the CC–CO with a screw-
driver. Check the correct polarity of the cables if direct voltage is used.
The DR output can be configured as an NO or NC contact. Normally, a configuration as
an NC contact is useful because it ensures that the contact opens in the event of a failure
of the auxiliary supply voltage.
