Problems and error correction
The following table gives you an overview of problems that may occur, their causes and
potential remedial measures.

Lighting and/or focus are not
displayed when a scan button
or the trigger is pressed.
The battery is empty.
Charge the battery or swap it for a freshly charged
battery. Make sure that the LEDs on the battery are
flashing during charging.
Hardware error whereby the
top LED on the scanner flashes
red.
Contact Support.
Lighting works but the reader
does not read the bar code.
Some functions are enabled as
standard while others are not.
Make sure that the scanned function is enabled.
Functions can be enabled or disabled using the
configuration codes. You can find the configuration
codes in the "SIMATIC MV326 Configuration Guide".
The reader reads the bar code,
transfers the data, but not to
the host.
Incorrect communication mode Use the corresponding configuration code on the
reader to set the correct communication mode. You can
find the configuration codes in the "SIMATIC MV326
Configuration Guide".
Note
USB keyboard is the most frequently used mode.
The host receives incorrect data
or characters are missing.
Incorrect keyboard language
Use the respective configuration code to adapt the
keyboard language according to your system settings.
Incorrect communication
protocol
Search and scan the configuration code to set raw data
or bundled data.
When the power indicator of
the battery is pressed, no LEDs
light up on the battery.
The battery may be empty.
Charge the battery or swap it for a freshly charged
battery. Make sure that the LEDs on the battery are
flashing during charging.
Battery malfunction
Replace the battery for a working battery.
The reader beeps three times.
The reader could not connect to
a Bluetooth charging unit.
Make sure that the charging unit is switched on
(wireless symbol on the charging unit is on or flashes)
and scan the QuickConnect code again.
The code was decoded but data
is not transferred.
Make sure that the reader is connected to the charging
station by scanning the QuickConnect code.
The connection to the
Bluetooth device cannot be
established.
The device does not support a
Bluetooth Low Energy
connection.
Use a compatible device that supports Bluetooth Low
Energy.
The reader beeps and vibrates
four times after scanning a
configuration code.
The reader decodes the
configuration code but does not
process it.
Make sure that you are using the correct configuration
codes for the reader.
The wireless LED flashes every
10 seconds.
The reader is in "hibernation
mode" and not in the charging
station.
Place the reader into the charging station or press any
button to activate the reader.
The reader beeps until a button
is pressed.
The pager is activated.
Press a button on the reader or the pager button on the
charging station (> 1 second).
The pager button is not
responding.
No reader is connected, or the
reader is out of range.
Scan the QuickConnect code to connect the reader to
the charging station or move the reader into the range
of the charging station.
The wireless LED flashes seven
times quickly and no data can
be sent.
The charging station is trying to
connect to a reader.
Make sure that the reader is switched on and is within
the range of the charging station.
