Properties
The SIMATIC ET 200SP TM ECC 2xPWM ST technology module is used for control and
monitoring of conductive charging of electric vehicles on the three-phase AC grid according
to the standard IEC 61851-1, charging mode Mode 3. It provides two charging outlets for this
purpose.
The TM ECC 2xPWM ST is intended to control the contactor that is used to establish the
connection between power grid and electric vehicle.
In addition, it generates and monitors the CP signal (Control Pilot Signal) and evaluates the
resistance at the PP (Plug Present or Proximity) connector.
The Control Pilot signal (CP), among other things, has the following functions:
●
Evaluation of the vehicle status (vehicle connected/not connected - vehicle in different
stages ready for charging - error)
●
Transfer of information for maximum available charging current over a PWM signal
●
Modulation of the TRIP line function (quick shutdown of exposed dangerous voltages on
the charging cable)
The technology module determines the resistance at the PP terminal (resistance coding in
the connector of the charging cable). This value helps determine the current carrying
capacity of the charging cable and whether the connector is plugged between charging
station and charging cable.
You can use the TM ECC 2xPWM ST technology module to enabled or disable the
electromotive or electromagnetic locking of the charging connector in the charging station
depending on the status (ACT). In addition, the locking process can be controlled and
monitored by means of the control and feedback interface (Page 35) externally without using
the ACT outputs.
The technology module can evaluate the configured feedback information to determine
whether or not the requested function was executed.
The following feedback information is available:
●
Feedback contactor
●
Feedback locking
●
Feedback ventilation
If the required state and the achieved state do not match, a diagnostics alarm to that effect is
triggered after three seconds.
You can configure a corresponding feedback contact in the TIA Portal as of version V14 SP1
/ "HSP0234 ET200SP ECC 2xPWM" or in the GSDML.
If you are using the technology module in "IEC61851-1 mode" and plug the charging cable
into the charging station, the current carrying capacity of the charging cable is detected and
connector locking is activated when the current carrying capacity of the cable is sufficient.
The locking mechanism is not unlocked until the charging cable is unplugged from the
vehicle. You can configure electromotive locking and its control in the TIA Portal as of
version V14 SP1 / "HSP0234 ET200SP ECC 2xPWM" or in the GSDML.
