Troubleshooting and tips
No screen display or display drifts
The wrong frequency and/or resolution has been selected for the screen or for the
application program.
Terminate the program
SET-VGA
with
Esc
or the application program in
MS-Windows with
Alt
+
F4
↵
or switch the monitor off for at least three
seconds and then switch it on again.
Use the
WDSETUP
or
SET-VGA
program to set the frequency required for the
monitor and/or the resolution required for the application program.
No mouse pointer displayed on the screen
If no mouse pointer is displayed, this may have the following causes:
Mouse driver not loaded
Check whether the mouse driver is properly installed and is present when the
application program is started. Detailed information can be found in the User
Guides of the mouse or application program.
Mouse not connected
Switch your PC off.
Check whether the mouse cable is properly connected to the system unit.
If you use an adapter or extension lead with the mouse cable, check the
connector.
Switch your PC on.

Troubleshooting and tips
The floppy disk cannot be read or written
Check whether the write protection of the floppy disk or the floppy disk drive is
activated (refer also to Technical manual of the system board).
Check the relevant entries for
Diskette A:
and
B:
in the
BIOS setup
.
Check whether the floppy disk drive controller is enabled (refer also to Technical
manual of the system board).
Check whether the lines of the floppy disk drive are properly connected (refer to
Technical manual of the PC).
Time and/or date is not correct
Set time and/or date using the setup menu.

If the time and date are repeatedly wrong when you switch on your PC, the
battery is flat. Change the lithium battery as described in the Technical
Manual of the system board.
Error messages on the screen
Error messages generated by the system BIOS are listed in the Technical manual
of the system board. Error messages issued by the operating system or by
programs are listed in the manuals describing this software.
Tips
If you have too many applications running at once, you may experience problems
due to a lack of system resources. If this happens, you should close applications
you do not require or call the applications in a different order.
