Light curtain for additional safety requirements
It is possible to integrate a light curtain with the slide drive SA (MHS400-L) to increase safety during travel. If an object moves
into the path of the lift & slide sash, the lift & slide sash is stopped immediately.
Information about manual operation
In the event of a malfunction (e.g. power failure), the lift & slide sash can be unlocked and opened manually with an emer-
gency operating handle at the lift drive HA. The lower cover cap on the lift drive HA must be removed for this purpose. The
motor gear is unlocked by pressing the release knob on the lift drive HA. The lift & slide sash can then be lifted manually with
the emergency operating handle (hexagon socket screw key WAF 8) and then moved by hand.
1.7 Safety information and hazard warnings
You must follow the safety instructions!
Risk of injury or fatal injury. Hands, arms, legs and feet can get trapped and/or
crushed in systems driven by an electric motor.
›
Make sure that no parts of the body or objects are within the shearing and closing area of the system.
›
Particularly when lowering lift & slide elements, make sure that no parts of the body or objects are under the lift & slide
sash.
›
Do not leave children unattended near a lift & slide element.
Risk of injury or death due to electrical shock or fire. Systems driven by an elec-
tric motor can overheat and cause fire.
›
Insert the Euro plug of the standard connecting cable only into a suitable 230
V
AC socket.
›
Only a qualified electrician may perform any work on the 230
V AC mains power supply that is required in order to
connect the unit.
›
Current local regulations (such as VDE 0100 of the VDE in Germany) must be observed.
›
Relevant country-specific regulations must be strictly followed for all work on the voltage supply system or building wiring
system.
›
All-pole safety isolation is required when the mains cable is fitted on-site because the power supply does not have a sep-
arate line disconnector.
›
The concealed mains supply lines to the MHS400 lift & slide system must be connected in branch boxes; these branch
boxes must be easily accessible for maintenance.
›
When cleaning the lift & slide sash and the drives, make sure that no liquid gets inside the MHS400 lift & slide system as
this could damage the electronics.
›
The unit must be checked by a specialist in the event of a fault.
Injuries caused by falling objects
›
Please do not put or place objects on top of the MHS400.
