4.5.3 The distance between the impeller and the back plate is adjusted to
0.2 mm for the ZMS 5 and 0.5 mm for ZMS 6 with a feeler gauge.
The feeler gauge is placed between the edge of the impeller and the
surface of the back plate.
4.5.4 The screw of the clamp ring (pos. 5, fig.4.c) is tightened with a
torquewrench - 55 Nm.
The sealing screw (pos. 4, Fig. 4.c) with O-ring is screwed into the
impeller.
4.5.5 Check that the rubber lining along the edge of the back plate of the
pump housing is in place. Fix and tighten the front plate of the pump
housing.
4.5.6 The motor shroud is fitted and secured according to instructions,
see para. 3.8.3. The pump is ready for use. See para. 3.5 - 3.8.
4.5.7 On the motor which is factory-supplied with the pump, the ball
bearing which locates the rotor axially is fitted at the drive end of the
motor.
Important: This is also a requirement for any locally purchased
motors in cases where the pump is supplied without motor or when
the motor is replaced.
4.6 Lubrication and maintenance of the motor. The motor has closed
bearing housings with permanent lubricated bearings which will
operate for many years.The bearing housings have to be opened to
clean off old grease before fresh grease is applied.
It is recommended to do this after 2-3 years’ service. It is even better
to renew the bearings. The bearings are filled with grease for bearing
temperatures between -30°C and 140°C and the following qualities
are recommended:
For motors with grease nipples please also note: Lubricate the
bearings of the motor carefully with best grade ball bearing grease
before the initial start. For motors working continuously the bearings
have to be lubricated approx. every second month.
If the time of operation is approx. 8 hours a day the bearings should
be lubricated every 6 months. The volume of grease should be 10-20
grams a time.
The lubrication shall always be made during operation. See also
separate motor instruction.
