1.1
All product contact parts are made of austenitic stainless steel
(AISI 316 L). The pump has an impeller directly mounted on the
motor shaft. It is designed for cleaning by circulation of chemical
cleaning fluids (CIP).
The ZMS 3 and ZMS 4 pump is available with stainless steel
supports of which the front legs are adjustable. The pump is delivered
with a stainless shroud for the electrical motor.
The ZMS 5 and ZMS 6 pump is available with stainless steel
supports having adjustable feet, or with a stainless shroud for the
electrical motor or alternatively only with a safety guard for the
extension frame and the shaft coupling.
1.2
In its standard version the ZMS 3 and ZMS 4 pump has a rotating,
self-adjusting shaft seal with seat ring of acid proof, stainless steel,
deflector of carbon and double lipped seal of nitrile rubber.
In its standard version the ZMS 5 and ZMS 6 pump has a balanced
shaft seal consisting of a rotating stainless steel ring and self-adjus-
ting, pressure-balanced carbon ring and O-rings of nitrile rubber.
1.3
The pump is provided with a patented, adjustable sound damping
valve permitting a small volume of air to be sucked into the pump.
1.4
The electrical motor is a 3-phase squirrel-cage motor of splash-proof
design (IP 55), complete with connector box with BK-gland. The
motor complies with I.E.C. standards and is suited for ambient
temperatures up to 40°C.
The electrical motor for the ZMS 3 and ZMS 4 has a special stainless
steel shaft.
2.1
Place the pump in the desired location and align it by means of the
adjustable feet. When placing the pump make sure there is sufficient
space around the pump to allow for cleaning, operation and main-
tenance, approx. 0.6 metres.
For pumps with motor shroud attention should be paid to allow
sufficient space at the rear for removal of the shroud. Overall dimen-
sions and weight for the pump appears in the appended drawing.
2.2
When placing the pump the suction line should be as short as
possible. Avoid if possible valves, elbows and T-pieces on the suction
side of the pump.
To achieve the maximum static suction height of 5 m WG with air only
the vertical length of the discharge line shall be 1 meter for the ZMS
3 and ZMS 4 pump and 1.5 metres for the ZMS 5 and ZMS 6 pump.
