The machine must not start independently.

The green LED STATE and the yellow LED OUT light up continuously.

Press the reset pushbutton in the case of operation with manual reset. Then
enable operation in the controller.

The machine starts.

Open guard.

The machine must switch off and must not let itself be started as long as the
guard is open.
°
The green LED STATE lights up continuously, the LEDs OUT and ERROR are
off.

Repeat the thorough check for each protective device individually as from the sec‐
ond step.

Functional test (self-test)
With the T4000 Multi transponder safety switch, a functional test can be performed by
cyclical opening of the guard.
A functional test of the complete safety system must performed in accordance with EN
60204-1 at start-up or after defined intervals.
A test of the internal function of the T4000 Multi transponder safety switch is not nec‐
essary because the device monitors itself in real time. Welding of an output contact
(relay output) is detected by the device at the latest when the guard is next opened.
NOTE
A cross-circuit of the output line will not be detected by the device.
In addition, the complete safety circuit can be tested without opening the guard as fol‐
lows.

With the guard closed, apply 24 V DC to the test input TST. This simulates opening
of the guard. The safety outputs are switched off, the red LED DIA lights up and
the diagnostic output DIA of the evaluation unit is set to HIGH.

Connect the test input TST to 0 V again or disconnect. The safety outputs are
switched on again, the red LED DIA goes out and the diagnostic output DIA is set
to LOW again.
NOTICE
After the self-test, the test input TST must be connected to 0 V again or disconnected.
In the case of operation with manual reset, the reset pushbutton must be pressed
again to start the system.
