5
Automatic reset, no reset pushbut‐
tons connected
Manual reset, reset pushbutton con‐
nected
6
No EDM
Operation with EDM
1)
Only for evaluation unit T4000-1RCA04.
4.
Close all monitored guards. The actuators are then towards the sensor (pay atten‐
tion to distance < S
ao
).
7.3.2
Teach-in process
NOTE
Do not interrupt the supply voltage and do not open the guards during the teach-in
process. Do not allow a signal change at the connections of the reset pushbutton or
external device monitoring (EDM).
1.
Switch on the supply voltage.
2.
In the case of operation with manual reset, press and hold the reset button until
the end of the teach-in process (alternatively, supply terminal S with 24 V for the
teach-in process).
3.
Wait for the self-test to be completed. The green LED STATE flashes at 15 Hz for
approx. 10 seconds during the self-test.
The teach-in process now starts automatically:
•
The green LED STATE flashes at 1 Hz during the teach-in process.
•
The teach-in process takes approx. 10 seconds. The LEDs then signal whether the
teach-in process was successful:
°
The green LED STATE goes out, the yellow LED OUT and red LED DIA are also
out: the teach-in process was successful.
°
The green LED STATE flashes three times with repetition after 1 second and
the red LED DIA lights up continuously: the teach-in process was not success‐
ful and must be repeated.
Completing the teach-in process
1.
Switch off the supply voltage for at least 10 seconds.
2.
Remove the jumper between terminals J1 and J2.
3.
Check the effectiveness of all protective devices.
7.3.3
Possible errors during teach-in
If the teach-in process was not successful, repeat teach-in and excluded the following
sources of error:
•
Status change, e.g. a guard is opened during the teach-in process.
•
No DIP switch in ON position.
•
The DIP switch setting and the connected configuration do not match.
