It is recommended to first define the clock period T
clock period
. The overflow value to be
set for the respective function block can then be calculated using the following formula.
a
overflow
= l
goods
/ (V
Conveyor
× T
clock period
) + (T
Clearance
/ T
clock period
) +1

Table 13: Timing errors
Timing errors
Description
End of the maximum duration
of the muting function
If the Type 4 electro-sensitive protective device is still inter‐
rupted after the maximum duration of the muting function has
elapsed, the safety system goes into error mode.
End of the minimum duration
of the muting function
If the duration of the muting function (muting active time) is
shorter than the calculated minimum duration, the safety sys‐
tem goes into the error state.

“Timing Set Selection Monitoring” network
Figure 9: “Timing Set Selection Monitoring” network
This is the network where the Timing Set Selection function is configured. In this regard,
it can be decided to activate or deactivate this function.
If the function is deactivated, one timing set is continuously selected and it is not possi‐
ble to switch it.
If this function is activated, it must be determined whether 2, 3 or 4 timing sets are
needed. This determination affects the required signals and accordingly, also the wiring
of these signals
see "Interfaces and signals", page 24
.
Configuration instructions
If the Timing Selection function is not used, all S301.x signals must be separated from
the
User mode switch
function block.
