GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS (CONT’D.)
CONDUCTOR CAN RESULT IN A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. CHECK WITH A QUALIFIED
ELECTRICIAN OR SERVICE PERSON IF YOU ARE IN DOUBT AS TO WHETHER THE OUTLET IS
PROPERLY GROUNDED. DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG PROVIDED WITH THE APPLIANCE – IF
IT WILL NOT FIT THE OUTLET, HAVE A PROPER OUTLET INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED
ELECTRICIAN.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit, and has a grounded plug that looks like the plug
illustrated in
sketch A
. A temporary adaptor that looks like the adaptor illustrated in
sketches B and C
may
be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown in
sketch B
if a properly grounded outlet is
not available. The temporary adaptor should be used only until a properly grounded outlet
(sketch A)
can
be installed by a qualified electrician. The green colored rigid ear, lug or the like extending from the adaptor
must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover. Whenever the
adaptor is used, it must be held in place by a metal screw.
IN CANADA, THE USE OF A TEMPORARY ADAPTOR IS NOT PERMITTED BY THE CANADIAN ELECTRICAL
CODE. Make sure that the appliance is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No
adaptor should be used with this appliance.
UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY
1. Remove fan from foam packaging inserts.
2. Install stand onto mounting bolts located on fan housing.
3. Position fan housing to angle required for operation.
4. Tighten knobs by hand to secure the fan (no tools required).
SET UP AND OPERATION
1. To use the unit, place it in the area most suitable for your application. Several factors need to be
considered; the unit must have a minimum of 3 feet of clearance on both the intake and exhaust sides
of the fan to allow for proper airflow. The unit should not be placed where it can become a tripping or
safety hazard.
2. To adjust angle of fan: Loosen knobs with hands. Rotate fan housing to desired angle. Tighten knobs with
hands to secure fan housing in place.
3. Plug the unit into the wall.
4. Turn unit on and select air speed by
O = OFF, II = HIGH SPEED, I = LOW SPEED
, located on the top of
the unit.
5. When you no longer need the unit, turn the unit off and follow the instructions for storage in this manual.
