The Model W1838 Combo Sander accepts 6" diameter cloth
or paper-backed pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) sanding
discs. These are available in the current Shop Fox catalog
in a variety of grits.
The PSA sanding disc sticks directly to the surface of the
aluminum disc and can be replaced with little effort.
Often if the disc is still warm from sanding, the adhesive
will be soft enough that the disc will come off very easily.

To.change/replace.sanding.disc,.do.these.steps:
1.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2.
Remove sanding disc table.
3.
Remove (4) M4-.7 x 8 Phillips head screws and (4)
4mm washers, then remove disc cover (see Figure.
18
).
4. Remove worn out sandpaper by slowly peeling it
from aluminum disc.
5. Make sure aluminum disc is thoroughly clean of all
substances, including solvent, before applying a
new sanding disc. If necessary, clean aluminum disc
with a light application of a non-oil, non-flammable
solvent to remove any adhesive residue.
6. Peel back protective layer on half of sandpaper disc,
and fold it against the remaining half.
7. Center sticky half of sandpaper on upper half of
aluminum disc, and press sandpaper onto disc
surface (see
Figure.19
).
8. Remove remainder of protective layer, then press
paper against aluminum disc.
9. Rotate disc by hand, making sure sandpaper is firmly
attached to aluminum disc.
10. Re-install sanding disc table (see Page.13
).
