Regular periodic maintenance on your
SHOP FOX
®
Model
W1747 will ensure its optimum performance. Make
a habit of inspecting your machine each time you use it.
Check for the following conditions and repair or
replace when necessary:
•
Loose mounting bolts.
•
Worn switch.
•
Worn or damaged cords and plugs.
•
Damaged V-belt.
•
Any other condition that could hamper the safe
operation of this machine.
Cleaning
Vacuum excess wood chips and sawdust, and wipe off the
remaining dust with a dry cloth. Protect the unpainted
cast iron surfaces on the table by wiping the table clean
after every use. Keep tables rust-free with regular appli-
cations of quality metal protectants.
Maintenance Schedule
For optimum performance from your machine, follow this
maintenance schedule and refer to any specific instruc-
tions given in this section.
Daily Maintenance
:
• Clean the unpainted cast iron part of the table
• Lubricate feed rollers
Weekly Maintenance:
• Clean cutterhead
• Lubricate four columns
Monthly Maintenance
:
• Inspect V-belt tension, damage, or wear
• Clean/vacuum dust buildup from inside cabinet and
off motor
• Lubricate worm gear
• Lubricate drive chain
Yearly Maintenance
:
• Change gear box oil (See
