13.4 - Checking your setup
The following panel will appear once your serial port communication with Dome Tracker is done and
the DOME mode is selected.
Azimut rotation test
Goal is to test azimuth motor movement and that the rotational encoder is properly working.
Click in this section to move the dome on the positive direction or negative (opposite) direction.
When « Idle » is selected, the dome shouldn't move.
When the dome is moving, check the section below ; it should gives you increasing or decreasing
numbers coming from the rotational encoder :
Clcik on « Ref » to set your reference and check by how much the dome rotates and the direction
sign.
Reset your dome position
Click on « Reset Dome » : the dome should rotate toward positive direction (if Dir+ is selected) and
when the reference inductive sensor becomes active, motor should stop and the dome is initialized
to the reference azimuth position. Reset Status should switch to « ACTIVATED » when S14 is closed
or the reference sensor is active.
The rotational encoder should rotate as the dome rotates otherwise this initialisation step will fail.
