Basic Operations
Using Macro Shot

This camera lets you shoot close-ups to focus
on subjects from about 3.5 to 28 inches (9 to
70 cm) away with the Power zoon "W" button
set to widest angle, and 8 to 28 inches (20 to
70 cm) away with the Power zoon "W" button
set to other than the widest angle. Excellent for
photographing insects and flowers.

Turn on the camera in the desired mode.

Press the Power Zoom “W” button to set
to widest angle, then press the

button.

Move the camera closer to the subject
until you obtain the desired angle of
view, then capture the image.
Notes:
• When you capture a macro shot, make sure that
the subject receives sufficient illumination.
• In Scene Select mode (
.
), this function will
only work if you select “BLACK&WHITE” from the
“SCENE MENU”.
• Use a tripod to avoid camera shaking.
• Macro Shot is not available when Quick Shot is
on.
Using the Flash

Turn on the camera in the desired mode.

• Flash is automatically set to off when using
Continuous, Auto Bracket and Auto Gamma
modes.
• The flash sensor on the front of the body
measures the light level to emit. Do not obstruct
it with your finger when holding camera.
