3.2.11. Updating the Software Program
The software update must be obtained from Seon Design. Attempting to load
other software will not work on the EX4 DVR.
Updating the software program on the DVR involves the following steps:
•
Insert a USB memory device with new software into the USB port.
•
Back up your currently used settings (Export Defaults).
•
Run the program update (Program Update) and restart the DVR.
•
Load the default settings (Load Defaults) and restart the DVR.
•
Load the previously saved settings (Import Defaults).
•
Format the hard drive (Format Hard-drive).
3.2.11.1. Beginning the Software Update
To install a software update, a USB memory device must be formatted from a
Windows computer using the FAT file format. Load the Program Update file onto
the USB memory device.
To install a software program update to the EX4 DVR:
1. Make sure the DVR is powered off.
2. Unlock and remove the hard drive.
3. Power up the DVR using the vehicle ignition.
4. Insert the USB memory device with the new software version into the USB
port on the front of the DVR.
5. After the DVR has restarted, press the
MENU
button.
PROGRAM
UPDATE
The EX8 Plus DVR software can be upgraded in the field as new
features are added. The Program update option will make the DVR
read the new software from the USB memory device and
reprogram itself.
