2.7.1. Connecting the Signal Harness
The 5-conductor signal harness shown in Figure 2-9 connects to the various
signals in the vehicle, including turn signals, brake lights, stop-arm, and warning
lights, for example. If the signals are not being used with the system, then this
harness does not have to be installed.
Always connect through a fuse-protected circuit. The signals can be activated
from 12 VDC (Active
HIGH
) or 0 VDC (Active
LOW

The wire colors for wiring to the indicators and default text are described in Table
2-2. The indicators can be hooked up to any signal as the text for each indicator
can be easily reprogrammed. For example, Indicator 2 can be connected to the
Wheel Chair Lift signal, and the text could be changed from
STP
to
WCL
.
To connect the signal harness connector to the Smart-Link module:

Connect the signal harness connector into the
SIGNALS
connector on the
Smart-Link module.
