8. Troubleshooting
Prior to contacting service, please check the device based on the following table.
Symptom Causes Correction
Picture
No picture shown or
a distorted picture. • The video cable is not
fi rmly connected.
• The video output mode
is not properly set for the
device.
• The video input mode is
not properly set for the
connected TV.
• Firmly connect the video
cable.
• Press [V-MODE] repeatedly
until the picture becomes
normal again.
• Set the corresponding video
input mode.
Sound
No audio or
distorted audio. • The audio cables are not
fi rmly connected.
• The volume is set to low.
• Mute is set.
• Fast forward / rewind
mode.
• Firmly connect the audio
cables.
• Increase the volume.
• Press [MUTE] on the
remote controller to enable
audio.
• Press [PLAY/PAUSE].
Cannot play disc. • The disc is incorrectly
placed in the disc
compartment.
• The disc score is greater
than the parent lock score
that is set.
• The device is not
compatible with the disc.
The disc is dirty.
• Check that the disc
is inserted into the
compartment with the
printed side facing up.
• Restore parent lock
settings.
• Clean the disc.
The player freezes
when a USB drive
or memory card is
connected. • The connected USB drive
or memory card most likely
are not certifi ed. • The player is not capable
of playing uncertifi ed USB
drives or memory cards.
If the player freezes, turn
off the player, disconnect
the power cord from the
socket and disconnect
the USB drive and/or
memory card from the
player. Restart the player.
The player will continue
to function in the standard
way.
