Energy saving
■
By getting rid of boxes and other packaging before putting food in the freezer,
you will reduce the energy consumption, as the freezer can chill products quicker
in this way.
■
On the other hand, if you fill the appliance too much, you will push the compressor
to work for longer, which increases electricity consumption.
■
Never put hot food in the freezer; allow them to cool down to room temperature
before storing them.
■
To defrost certain frozen foods, you can put them in the fridge: the cold generated
by the defrosting is used to chill other foods instead of relying on the refrigerator’s
compressor.
■
Keep the seal clean and flexible so that the cold cannot escape.
■
Keep the lid closed and only open the freezer when necessary.
■
Do not forget that every time you open the lid, cold air is lost and the compressor
will start working again.
■
For optimum performance, leave enough space in the freezer to allow air to
circulate around the packages.
