Chapter 3: What to Expect Before, During and After Surgery  Page 60 

Your  doctor  can  provide  more  details  about  your 
rehabilitation program. 

As part of this rehabilitation program, you may receive some 
items  to  take  home  with  you  to  help  you  practice  and  learn 
more  about  the  system.  It  is  important  to  spend  time 
practicing in order to maximize the benefit that you get from 
the system.  

The Importance of Following a Care Regimen 

The following guidelines about your Argus II System will help 
to  ensure  that  you  receive  the  safest  and  most  beneficial 
treatment. 

Always tell any medical personnel that  you have an implant 
in your eye and tell them where it is located. If they have any 
questions,  they  should  contact  your  doctor  or  Second  Sight 
at 1-818-833-5060. 

If  you  experience  any unusual  symptoms  that  you  think  are 
related to your Argus II Implant, contact your doctor. 

If you have a family member or caregiver, ask them to read 
this  manual  along  with  you.  There  may  be  situations  where 
you will need their assistance. 

Go  to  all  follow-up  appointments.  This  will  ensure  that  you 
get the best care.
