beam is on or when the headlight flasher
is used.

Any faults in the engine management sys-
tem of the petrol engine which occur
while driving will be indicated by a flash-
ing warning lamp. In this case, have the
engine checked by a Technical Service
Centre immediately.

The warning lamp comes on when the
ignition is switched on and must go out
when the engine is started.
If a fault occurs in the engine manage-
ment system while the vehicle is in
motion, the warning lamp will light up. In
this case, have the engine checked by a
Technical Service Centre immediately.

Preheating
(only diesel engines)
When the engine is cold the pilot light
comes on when the running position
(engine on) is selected.
If the pilot light does not come on during
this operation there may be a fault in the
system – seek technical assistance.
Once the warning light goes off, start the
engine immediately. See the "Starting the
engine" chapter.
When the engine is at service ttempera-
ture this pilot light does not come on –
you may start the engine immediately.
