Charging the b
battery
Before charging, switch off the engine
and all electrical consumers.
When charging with a low current (e.g.
with a small charger) the battery cables
need not normally be taken off. The
instructions from the battery charger man-
ufacturer must, however, be noted.
In order to connect the positive cable, the
cover of the fuse holder above the battery
must first be moved to the side.
Before quick c
charging, that is charging
with a high current, both battery cables
must be disconnected.

When charging the battery do not
remove caps.
•
The main cables of the charger should
not be connected until the clips of the
charger have been properly secured to the
battery terminals:
red ......................................= positive
black, brown or blue ............= negative
•
After charging the battery, first switch
off the charger and disconnect the main
cable. Then disconnect the clips of the
charger from the battery.
