SAFETY FIRST
Belt ttensioner*
Safety for the belted-in driver and front
passenger is increased by the belt ten-
sioners fitted to the inertia reels of the
front 3 point seatbelts to supplement the
Air Bag.
In case of a severe frontal collision the
system is activated by sensors which trig-
ger off a pyrotechnic charge in both auto-
matic roller devices.
This makes the devices roll up and tighten
the tensioners.

•
It is of utmost importance to observe
the relevant safety regulations when the
vehicle or components of the system are
scrapped. Technical Service Centres are
familiar with these regulations and can
provide details.
