REAR PANEL CONNECTIONS
POWER CONNECTOR
:
Connect to a power supply that delivers 12 or 24 volts DC and is capable of 6 or
3 Amps respectively current.
RF CONNECTORS
:
Two UHF female connectors are used for interconnecting the necessary 50 ohm
coax cables to the antenna systems. Coax type should be RG-58C/U, RG-213/U
or equivalent using a PL-259 UHF plug. The connector labeled ANTENNA 50
OHMS is for normal radio operations and DSC transmissions. The second
connector is for the dedicated channel 70 receiver.
PRINTER - P1
:
Interconnect for connecting an optional parallel printer is provided for printing
received messages and display screens. Pressing the SQL key will send the
screen information to the printer.
NMEA 0183 - P2
:
The P2 connector allows NMEA 0183 navigational input from a GPS or Loran
receiver using pins 1 and 2. The input NMEA 0183 signal is buffered and
output on pins 3 and 4 for driving additional equipment.
ACCESSORY - P3
:
Use for interconnecting additional equipment requiring accesses to the radio
transmit, receive and alarm circuitry.
GND
-
(Pins 1 and 8) Provides access to the negative side (ground) of the
primary supply.
MIC
-
(Pin 2) Auxiliary input for a dynamic microphone.
PTT
-
(Pin 3) Applying a ground potential to this connection activates the
transmitter.
HS AUDIO
- (Pin 4) Handset receiver audio. 600 ohms.
INT SPKR
- (Pin 5) Internal speaker input. A jumper to the AF OUT terminal
is required to operate the internal speaker.
AF OUT
-
(Pin 6) AC coupled output of the audio power amplifier. Speaker
impedance required is 3.2 ohms or greater. Connect to INT SPKR for audio.
MUTE
- (Pin 7) Supplying a ground to this pin will mute the receiver. During
transmit, this connection will supply a ground for muting another receiver.
ALRM RQ IN
- (Pin 9) Input signal for requesting a Distress signal from a
remote alarm station. Grounding this line will initiate a Distress call.
ALRM ACK OUT
- (Pin 10) This output terminal provides an Alarm
Acknowledgment signal when used with a remote alarm station.
