:
•
Periodically check the motor and control box
electrical connections, remove any residue and
cover the connections with a small coating of grease.
It is recommended at least once a year to
disassemble the windlass (see Fig. 3.16.2) and
remove any residue build-up.
•
Using the emergency handle, unscrew the
clutch nut by turning the handle
counterclockwise.
•
Remove the drum, upper cone, chain wheel and
lower cone.
•
Wash down with fresh water and remove any
residue.
•
Coat contact surfaces with a light film of
lubricant.
•
Reassemble the unit and tighten clutch by
turning the handle clockwise.
Make sure that the power is off before any work is
performed on the windlass.

DANGER
NOTE:
Use the fresh water washdown spigot in
the starboard bow locker to hose down the chain in
the locker after haul-in.
