Maintenance
General
Regular cleaning is a precondition for good operational reliability. The
following advice is to be observed before starting any servicing, maintenance
or repair work on the machine.
Observe the instructions for adjustments, inspection and maintenance
activities provided in this manual at all times.
Instruct operators before beginning maintenance work and appoint a person
to supervise such work.
To avoid the risk of accidents when replacing larger parts, ensure suitable
lifting and safety equipment is used. Never work or stand under suspended
parts!
Always observe safety procedures when carrying out maintenance
concerning operation, adaptation, conversion, adjustment, inspection and
servicing of the machine.
Before cleaning the machine with water or high-pressure cleaners or other
cleaning agents, any openings (for safety and operational reasons) must be
protected against ingress of water, steam or cleaning agents. Special care
must be taken with hydraulic motors and any electrical components.
After cleaning remove any areas covered by tape or other materials used for
guarding against water, steam or cleaning agent ingress.
Always retighten any screwed connections that have become loose during
maintenance and repairs.
Any safety devices removed for cleaning, maintenance or servicing purposes,
must be refitted and secure upon completion of the work carried out.
Ensure that all oils, consumables and replaced parts are disposed of safely
and with minimum environmental impact. If you are unsure where to
dispose of any of these materials, contact your local waste management
office for advice.
