THE 6-PIN REMOTE START HARNESS (H1)
H1-5
This wire supplies the 12v current needed to power the factory ignition#1
wire. The factory ignition#1 wire is used to start the engine and keep
it running by powering the vehicle’s ignition coil, spark plugs, and fuel
system. There is often more than one ignition wire, but usually no more
than three.
Locate the factory Ignition#1 wire by probing the ignition switch wiring
harness with a DMM. Look for a wire that is (+)12v when the ignition
switch is turned to the ON and START positions. When you find the
correct wire,
solder on
the YELLOW wire from the 6-pin harness of the
825K, and seal with electrical tape or heat-shrink tubing.
YEL wre: IGN#1 Output
H1-6
This wire supplies the 12v current needed to power the factory ignition#2
wire,
which may or may not be used in the vehicle you are installing in.
Check the appropriate wiring diagrams to verify if your vehicle has an
Ignition#2 wire. If it does, you must connect the GREEN Ignition#2 wire
of the 825K to the vehicle’s Ignition#2 wire. Although the factory igni-
tion#2 wire is typically used to power vehicle lamps, heaters, and the air
conditioner,
some vehicles cannot be remote started without powering this
wire.
Locate the factory Ignition#2 wire by probing the ignition switch wiring
harness with a DMM. Look for a wire that is (+)12v when the ignition
switch is turned to the ON and START positions.
GRN wre: IGN#2 Output
NOTE: In some vehicles, the Ignition#2 wire is 0v when the ignition
switch is turned to the START position, while in others, it is (+)12v. If
your vehicle Ignition#2 wire shows 0v in the START position, you must
program the 825K’s GREEN IGN#2 output to accommodate this. See
line 8 on page 12 of the 825K
Owner’s Guide
for details.
When you find the vehicle’s Ignition#2 wire,
solder on
the GREEN wire
from the 6-pin (H1) harness of the 825K, and seal with electrical tape or
heat shrink tubing.
If your vehicle also has an Ignition#3 wire, you will need to inter-
face with the Black/Red wire on the 825K’s 18-pin Main Harness.
See page 16 for details.
An optional relay may be required.
