7 Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Remove contamination from ERD at regular intervals (e.g. with
lint-free cloth).
7.2 Inspections
• At regular intervals, check that all the electrical connections are
connected firmly.
• Check cables for damage at regular intervals. In the event of
defects, turn off the system and replace cables.
7.3 Notes on the electrical and pneumatic rotary feed-through
The pneumatic seal kit and electric grinding unit are a wearing
part. Depending on the operating conditions, these have to be
replaced in the production facility. Their expected life span is 5
million revolutions or cycles.
7.4 IP 54 version
Note that attaching the IP54 seal kit alters the ERD's interfering
contour.
7.4.1 Maintenance interval
The IP 54 version seal kit is a wearing part. Depending on the
ambient and operating conditions, it has to be replaced if any leaks
occur.
To ensure tightness, observe the following maintenance schedule

Operation under extreme ambient conditions (e.g. casting dust or
abrasive dust) can significantly shorten the life span of the seals
(thereby reducing the maintenance interval).
