per repairs may lead to serious material damage and
danger for the user.
When carrying out repairs, only original spare parts may
be used. We can only guarantee that the safety stan-
dards we set for our washer extractors are met in full if
these parts are used.
Self-help for minor malfunctions
The appliance fails to start when a programme button is operated:
u
Check that the main building switch is set to on and
that the mains plug is inserted.
u
Check that all fuses are intact or whether the auto-
matic circuit breaker has tripped.
The appliance fails to start:
u
Start button not pressed.
u
Pre-set starting time activated. The appliance will
only start when the pre-set starting time is reached.
Detergent not washed out of chamber A:
u
«Pre-wash» button
not pressed.
Detergent residues in the detergent drawer:
u
Damp or compacted detergent. Dry the detergent
drawer before filling with detergent.Use a measuring aid
with liquid and compact detergents. Add the detergent
to the measuring aid and place it with the laundry in the
drum.
Water not visible when washing:
u
Not a fault! The water in the appliance lies below the
visible range.
Poor washing results:
u
Level of soiling higher than usual.
u
Change detergent type and dosage.
u
Select maximum permissible temperature for the
fabrics.
u
Select a more powerful wash programme.
Detergent residues on the laundry:
u
This is not due to poor rinsing performance by your
washing machine, but is the result of insoluble residues
from certain phosphate-free detergents which sometimes
have a tendency to deposit themselves as light spots on
the laundry.
u
Remedy: allow to dry and brush off or repeat the entire
rinse cycle immediately. Consider switching detergents.
Grey residues on the laundry:
u
With soiling due to ointments, grease or oils, the nor-
mal measure of detergent may be insufficient, increase
the measure on the next wash.
u
Remedy: select the maximum permissible temperature
for the fabrics.
Grey spots on the laundry:
u
These spots could have been caused by cosmetics
or softeners and may well have been on the laundry
before being placed in the washing machine. Remedy:
it may be possible to wash out some spots after soaking
in liquid detergent.
Foam still visible after the final rinse:
u
Some detergents tend to generate more foam. Howe-
ver, this has no bearing on the rinsing result.
Motor noise:
u
Not a fault! Noises may be heard in the start-up
phase of the drive motor.
Repeated spinning:
u
The imbalance control system has detected an imba-
lance and rectified it by starting up the spin cycle a
number of times.
Poor spin result:
u
The imbalance control system has detected an imba-
lance that it was unable to rectify. With underloads or
critical laundry pieces such as bath mats, the laundry is
insufficiently distributed. The spin speed is reduced
depending on the load and imbalance, safeguarding the
appliance against being overstressed.
Vibrations when washing and spinning:
u
The transport securing devices have not been remo-
ved.

Appliance feet were not locked when setting-up the
appliance. Relevel the appliance with a spirit level and
securely lock the feet as described in the Setting-up
Instructions.
Programme time extendet:
u
As a result of excess foam generation, the foam
detection system has initiated an additional rinse and
spin to ensure a good rinse result.
u
In the event of severe imbalance when spinning, pro-
gramme times may be extended due to repeated redis-
tribution of the laundry. Remedy: wash large and small
pieces together in order to reduce the imbalance.
u
Power failure (bear in mind power shutdowns by the
electricity supplier.
Loading door cannot be opened:
u
Programme not yet finished.
u
«Rinse stop» selected.
In the event of power failure or appliance defect, the loading door
can be opened as follows

Switch off the water tap
u
Remove the rubber grommet to the left of the door
lock. Insert a screwdriver and press down.
