Detergents and care additives
You can use all commercially available detergents intended
for automatic washing machines, such as powder, compact
(concentrates), tablets (tabs) or liquid detergents.
Use the appropriate detergent according to the type and
colour of the fibre used for the fabric:
l
All-purpose detrgent for whites
l
Coloureds detergent for coloureds
l
Delicates detergent for synthetics, viscose and micro-
fibre
fabrics
l
Wool detergent for wool, silk and outerwear
Use the insert for liquid detergents in the laundry drawer
or use dosing aids such as dosing balls or sacks enclo-
sed with the detergent.
Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents under
any circumstances. There is a danger that parts of the
appliance may be damaged and poisonous gases given
off. Moreover there is a danger of fire and explosion.
Fabrics that have been treated with cleaning agents
containing solvent must first be thoroughly rinsed by
hand in clean water.
Use only water softening products, dyes, bleaches and
other additives that have been expressively approved
for use in automatic washing machines by their manu-
facturers in the instructions for use. Follow the relevant
instructions for use exactly.
Only add starch on the final rinse (finishing) due to the
risk of explosion in all other wash cycles.
Store detergents and laundry care additives out of the
reach of children.
Store detergents, laundry aids and other additives in a
cool, dry place because lumpy detergent may result in
malfuntions.
Detergent dosing
Good washing results can only be obtained with correct
dosing. Follow the dosing recommendations on the
laundry packaging. Bear in mind that the dosing quanti-
ties given on the packaging refer to full drum loads.
Reduce the dose with smaller quantities of laundry.
The quantity of detergent is dependent on:
l
the water hardness
if this is unknown, check with your local water supplier.
Adjust the detergent dose according to the hardness.
l
the degree of soiling
l
lightly soiled;
no visible soiling or stains, the clothing has only absor-
bed body odour for example.
Reduce the quantity of detergent in accordance with the
recommended dose.
Wash these fabrics in the express programme.
l
normal soiling;
visible soiling and a few faint stains.
Normal dosing as per the dosing recommendation.
Wash these fabrics in the standard programme.
