WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE
Symbol indicates risk of
electric shock!
Do not remove!
The CTE can accept line input power from an external, UL294, UL603
or ULCS318/ULCS319 listed power supply capable of sourcing at
least 500 mA@12 or 24 VDC must be provided.
POE and POE+ power can also be used to power by the CTE.
Power output from the CTE is determined by the choice of power
input. See the table below.
L
The CTE power output to the credential reader is always limited
to 0.3A. When 24 volts line power input is provide the CTE can
power a QEL directly from the LOCK powered output.
To be used with a UL Listed UL294, UL294B, UL603, or UL60950
POE/POE+ power source. Note: For CUL installations the POE/POE+
source and power supply is required to be ULC-S318 or ULC-S319
listed.

DRY Contact Relays, LOCK, ALARM, and AUX are all rated to
handle up to 30V 2A individually.
¹ WIEGAND reader not supported at this time
* CTE will trigger a fault condition and turn off POWERED output if
maximum current value in table is exceeded.
Inputs
The CTE has internal tamper detection which is recorded in the CTE
audit report. CTE inputs require relay contact closure or switched open/
closed contact closure.
Input Description Table
INPUTS
Description
REN
Request to enter
When the switch activates, CTE
will activate the AUX RELAY.
LOCK RELAY must already be
activated and UNLOCKED
REN GND
Ground
Electrical ground (common) for
the CTE
REX
Request to exit
When the switch activates, the
CTE will activate the LOCK
RELAY
REX GND
Ground
Electrical ground (common) for
the CTE
DPS
Door position
switch
When a DPS is installed, the
CTE will trigger an alert, forced
door, propped door, and can
also activate the ALARM RELAY
if configured in this manner with
the ENGAGE mobile application
DPS GND
Ground
Electrical ground (common) for
the CTE
REL
Remote Release
When the switch activates, the
CTE will activate the LOCK
RELAY as a remote release or
buzz in action
REL GND
Ground
Electrical ground (common) for
the CTE
TAMP
Reader Tamper
When the switch activates, the
CTE will trigger an alert
TAMP GND
Ground
Electrical ground (common) for
Wiegand applications.
CTE has input switch settings that allow the input active or inactive
to be changed. the switches are directly above the INPUT LEDs and
INPUT connector blocks.
Switch Settings Table
REN
(Request to Enter)
Set the DIP switch for each input to
NO (normally open) or NC (normally
closed) such that the LED illuminates
when the input is active.
