Switching on and preparing the device

Apply the electrodes
1. Open the cover to switch the device on.
– If the cover is missing, remove the battery and insert it again to switch the device
on.
2. Assess the patient's condition: not responsive, no respiration, no pulse.
3. Apply the defibrillation electrodes to the patient's chest (see
).
“Apply the electrodes" LED is blinking as long as the electrodes are not properly ap-
plied to the patient's chest and/or the electrodes connector is not properly connected
to the device.

4. The analysis is automatically triggered, without user intervention. A message
prompts the user not to touch the patient and the LED below the pictogram is
blinking.
If the device detects ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia with a heart rate
exceeding 150 bpm,
