ATTENTION!
Do not use strong detergents or pe-
troleum based cleaners when cleaning plastic parts.
Chemicals can damage plastics.
6. Inspect for any loose or damaged parts. Repair or
replace damaged parts and tighten loose screws,
nuts or bolts.
7.
Remove the tines. Clean and apply oil to the tines
and tine shafts to prevent rusting. Mount the tines
onto the tine shafts.
8.
Coat the wheel axles lightly with oil. Oil the throt
-
tle cables and all visible moving parts. Do not re
-
move the engine cover.
9.
Store your tiller in upright position in a clean, dry
building that has good ventilation.
m
ATTENTION!
Do not store tiller with fuel in a
non-ventilated area where fuel fumes may reach
flame, sparks, pilot lights or any ignition sources. Use
only approved fuel containers.
2.
Start the engine and allow it to run until it stops.
This ensures no fuel is left in the carburetor. Run
the engine until it stops. This helps prevent plastic
deposits from forming inside the carburetor and
possible engine damage.
3.
While the engine is still warm, drain the oil from
the engine. Refill with fresh oil of the grade rec
-
ommended in the Engine Manual.
4.
Allow the engine to cool. Remove the spark plug
and put 30 ml of high quality motor oil into the cyl
-
inder. Pull the starter rope slowly to distribute the
oil. Replace the spark plug.
m
ATTENTION!
Remove the spark plug and drain all
of the oil from the cylinder before attempting to start
the unit after storage.
5.
Use clean cloths to clean off the outside of the
tiller and to keep the air vents free of obstructions.
13. Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible cause
Solution
Motor does not start up
1. The starter is not in the correct position
for the prevailing conditions
2.
The reservoir is empty
3.
The air filter components are dirty
4.
Spark plug is loose
5.
Spark plug wire improperly attached or
disconnected from the outlet
6.
Incorrect spark plug gap
7.
Defective spark plug
8.
Carburetor immersed in gasoline - Gas
switch is in the OFF position
1.
Move the starter to the appropriate
position
2.
Fill the tank
3.
Clean the air filter components
4. Tighten the plug to 25-30 Nm
5.
Attach the plug wire to the plug
6.
Adjust the spacing between the
electrodes to between 0.7 to 0.8
mm
7.
Install a new spark plug that is cor
-
rectly placed
8.
Remove the air filter and pull on the
starter cable continually until the
carburetor cleans itself and reinstall
the air filter Set the gasoline switch
to the position
Motor has trouble starting or
loses power

The air filter components are dirty
1.
Contact the vendor service
2.
Drain the reservoir, clean it and fill it
with clean fresh gasoline
3.
Clean or replace the tank plug
4.
Clean the air filter components
Motor operates irregularly
1.
Air filter components are dirty
2.
The throttle level is blocked by debris
3.
Cooling fins and air passages under the
motor are blocked
1.
Clean the air filter components
2.
Remove any projectile debris
3.
Remove any debris from the cooling
fins and the air passage
Motor locks up at high
speeds
1.
The gap between the spark plug elec
-
trodes is too small.
1.
Adjust the spacing between the
electrodes to between 0.7 and 0.8
mm
Motor overheats
1.
Cooling air flow is obstructed.
2.
Defective spark plug.
1.
Remove all debris from the mount
-
ing, ventilator, air passages and
cooling fins
2.
Install an LG F6TC spark plug.
Motor vibrates abnormally
1. The tiller has not been properly assem-
bled. The power tiller assembly is not
balanced
