Loosen lock nut (L).

Turn the screw (I) clockwise to eliminate the play but
without obstructing the upward and downward motion
of the spindle (a little bit of play is normal).

Tighten the lock nut.

8. Operation

WARNING:

if you are not familiar with this kind of ma-
chine, take advice from an experimented person.

In any case you should have read and understood the
safety and operational instruction before attempting to
operate this product.

Pivoting the table, Fig. 11

To bring the table (3) to the inclined position, release
the table locking (h) and adjust the desired table angle.
Re-tighten the table locking

Adjusting table height., Fig. 12

Loosen the table support lock handle (b).

Adjust the table (3) to the desired height.

Re-tighten the table locking (b).

Note: it is better to lock the table to the column in a posi-
tion so that the tip of the drill bit is just slightly above the
top of the workpiece

Installing drill bits

Inser1 drill bit intc chuck (A) far enough to obtain maxi-
mum gripping of chuck jaws (B). (When using a small
drill bit do not insert it so far that the jaws touch the

flutes -spiral grocves -of the drill bit. )

Make sure that the drill bit is centered in the chuck
before tightening the chuck w th the chuck key (C).
optional.

Tighten the drill chuck sufficiently, so that the drill bit

does not slip while drilling.

Turn the chuck key clockwise to tighten, anticlockwise
to loosen. Tighten the drill bit equally by using all three
holes in successicn. The drill bit can be release by
using one hole only.

Choosing speed and tensioning belt, Fig. 13
Note! Pull power plug!

You can set different spindle speeds on your pillar
drilling machine:

WITH THE SWITCH „OFF“, open pulley cover.

Loosen the drive belt on the right side of the machine
head by unfastening the wing screws (12) on both
sides. Pull the right side of the motor in the direction
of the spindle to loosen the v-belt. Tighten the wing
screws again.

Attach the v-belt to the corresponding belt pulleys.

Loosen the wing screws and push the right side of the
motor backwards to clamp the v-belt again.

Tighten  belt  tension  lock  knob.  Belt  should  deflect

approximately 13 mm –1/2“ -by thumb pressure at
mid-point of belt between pulleys.

Close pulley cover .

If belt slips while drilling readjust belt tension.

Installing the chuck, Fig. 8

1. Clean the conical hole in the chuck (5) and the spin-

dle cone with a clean piece of fabric. Make sure there
are no foreign particles sticking to the surfaces. The
slightest piece of dirt on any of these surfaces will pre-
vent the chuck from seating properly. This will cause
the drill bit to wobble“. If tapered hole in the chuck is
extremely dirty, use a cleaning solvent on the clean
cloth.

2. Push the chuck up on the spindle nose as far as it

wiII go.

3. Turn chuck sleeve anticlockwise (when viewed from

above) and open jaws in chuck completely.

4. Place a piece of wood on the machine table and lower

the spindle onto the piece of wood. Press firmly to en

-

sure that the food sits exactly.

Fastening radial drill press to supporting surface

For your own safety, it is highly recommended to install
the machine on a bench or similar.

WARNING:

All the necessary adjustments for the good working of
your drill press have been done at the factory .Please do
not modify them.
However, because of a normal wear and tear of your
tool, some readjustments might be necessary .

WARNING:

Always unplug our tool from power source before any
adjustment“

Quill return spring, Fig. 9

It may be necessary to adjust your quill return spring if
the tension is such that the quill returns either too rapidIy
or too slowly

Lower table for additional clearance.

Work from left side of drill press.

Move the stop nuts (B) down to their lowest position
and lock in place with wrench to prevent quill dropping
while tensioning spring.

Place screwdriver in lower front notch (C) of spring
cap (D), and hold it in place

Remove the screw (E) and the knurled nut (C) by using
an Allen wrench (SW5).

Carefully turn screwdriver anticlockwise and engage
next notch in boss (G). Do not remove screwdriver.

Install the knurled nut (C) and the screw (E) again.

If there is not enough tension on spring, repeat steps
moving onIy one notch each time and checking tension
after repetition. Proper tension is achieved when quill
returns gentIy to full up position when released from
20 mm-3/4“ -depth.

Check quill while feeding to have smooth and unre-
stricted movement. If movement is too tight, loosen al-
len screw (E) and knurled nut (F). Check if the spindle
can move freely again. Retighten jam nut.

The angular play of the spindle. Fig. 10

With the spindle in a low position, take it in your hand
and try to make it revolving about its axis. If there is too
much play, proceed as follows:
