Inserting the Telum GE-QT
To insert a new Telum GE-QT, slide the module along the bay guide rails. Then, push in the handle
to lock the Telum GE-QT into place. Perform the following steps:
1. Ground yourself before handling the module and the card. (See previous

2. Remove the module from its static-protective packaging. Save the packaging in case you need
it in the future.
3. Grasping the Telum GE-QT by the faceplate or the edges, align the module with the bay guide
rails of the appropriate bay opening on the carrier/shelf as shown in Figure 8.

4. Firmly, slide the module along the guide rail onto the carrier/shelf.
At this point, the blue LED should turn on to indicate that the module is ready to attempt
activation. The carrier/shelf retrieves E-keying and power requirements from the carrier/shelf
and module.
5. Push the black Module Latch Mechanism all the way in to lock the module in place. The
carrier/shelf can now deliver power to the module.
