With the wheelchair properly attached to the stair climber and the green
light lit on the steering bar control panel, put pressure on the steering bar
(Figure 23/b) such that the nose of the Roby rises and the manual auxiliary
wheels activate. Guide the machine to the edge of the first stair (Figure
23/a).
•
If you are traveling just one flight, position the Roby in the middle of
the flight.
•
If there is more than one flight of stairs, travel as near to the handrail as
possible or near the wall that delimits the stairwell. This position
makes manual operation on landings easier.
WARNING
Ensure the stair climber is perpendicular to the steps. Do
not attempt to travel on staircases diagonally.
