Error states
When using the control unit, errors may occur during operation, some of which can be detected by the control unit.
They can be divided into the following categories:
Self-test errors:
Errors which are detected during a self-test conducted by the control unit during the boot pro-
cess and during operation. The device changes to a safe state.
■
General errors:
Errors which are detected during operation of the device. The device can still be used.
■
Critical errors:
Errors which are detected during operation of the device. The device changes to a safe state.
■
Hardware initialisation errors:
Errors which can occur as part of the hardware initialisation during the
boot process. The device changes to a safe state.
The error codes and information on error elimination are listed in the appendix (see 9.4 Error messages).
Safe state
NOTE!
The control unit always changes to a safe state if a serious error occurs.
Certain functions of the devices are shut down one by one according to a
predefined sequence. In addition, the “Error” pin (pin 18) is set to high and
the “Alive” pin (pin 17) is set to low. The control unit uses this to protect itself
and the connected magnet. This state can only be exited if the device is
switched off and on again.
