Do not stand or use on hot surfaces (e.g. cooking hobs, etc.) or near open gas flames.

The filter holder (4) and steam pipe (8) get hot during operation.
▪
Ensure that the lead does not touch any hot parts of the machine.
▪
Only use the machine under supervision.
▪
Do not use the machine without water!
▪
Never remove or open the water tank (3) as long as the machine is being operated or is still under
pressure.
▪
Do not remove the filter holder (4) as long as the machine is still under pressure and the brewing
phase is still in progress.
▪
Switch the machine off every time after it has been used and disconnect from the mains, also for
- for any malfunctions during operation.
- and every time when you clean the machine.
▪
Do not pull on the lead to disconnect the machine from the mains.
▪
Remove the coffee grounds from the filter holder every time after you have made espresso.
▪
Do not wind the lead round the machine. Before you put the machine away, make sure that it has
cooled down.
▪
Children are not aware of the dangers of handling electric appliances. Keep children away from
electric appliances.
▪
Comply with the safety regulations when repairing electrical appliances. Any such repairs must
only be carried out by an electrician.
▪
Incorrect repairs can pose considerable dangers to the user. If the machine needs to be repaired,
please therefore send it in to the manufacturer's customer service.
▪
The manufacturer cannot be made liable for any damage caused by using the machine for any other
than its proper purpose so that it becomes a source of danger.
Caution: All metal parts of the machine can get very hot
!
Using for the first time:
First remove all packaging and remove the protective film from the cup hotplate (6).

Remove the water tank (3) from the machine and fill with water.
▪
Never fill the water tank (3) when the machine is switched on or connected to the mains.
▪
Always fill the water tank (3) with water right up to the top, or ensure that the long hose is always
in the water (the long hose pumps the water into the boiler, the short hose returns residual water to
the water tank).
▪
Never use the appliance without water in the water tank.
▪
Check that the steam control button (9) is in the "closed" setting (button turned down to the right).
▪
Place a filter insert (11) in the filter holder (4) (large or small filter).
▪
To hook the filter holder in the machine, position the filter holder under the water chute (5) so that
the handle points round to the left, then press up and at the same time pull the handle back, at the
same time turning it round to the right as far as it will go. The handle of the filter holder must be in
the middle setting to the machine. Ensure that the filter holder is correctly fitted in position.

Now connect the machine with the lead to a 230V mains socket.
▪
Put one or two cups under the filter holder.
▪
When using the espresso machine for the first time, press button (1) (on/off switch), then press
button (13) immediately (for espresso). The water now runs into the integrated boiler and after
heating, into the cup positioned under the filter holder. After approx. 90 seconds, switch button (13)
(espresso) off again (this is only necessary for the very first time). Throw away the water which has
run into the cup.

Next time you use the machine, switch on by pressing the on/off switch (1). The red lamp (2) lights
up.
